Amana XRSS287BB Fridge/Freezer Q & A

Question: We have replaced the HV Control but cannot remove the Water/Ice Dispenser unit from the front of the freezer door, to allow us to change over the LV control unit.
Any ideas or tips on removing this black plastic unit? Answer from Kelly Smith on the Appliance Zone Repair Forum: Hi, thanks for your inquiry. If you remove the water drip tray at the base of the dispenser, are the screws behind it? Will the facade pull loose once they are removed?

Top 5 Appliances Used During the Holidays

The holidays are a busy time around most households. Here's a list of the top 5 appliances that will get an additional workoutfrom now through the new year.

  1. Stove/Oven
Family dinners and tons of baking will put this appliance through the ringer. You'll get your moneys worth out of your oven this time of year.

    2.  Refrigerator

Whatever the average number of times you open and close your refrigerator and freezer plan on doubling it this holiday season. Between the extra cooking duties and guests looking for a cold beverage, the fridge will put in some work.

    3. Microwave

The microwave is the top spot to reheat the leftovers from that fantastic holiday meal for days to come.

     4. Dishwasher

Unless all of your guests are going to roll up their sleeves and pitch in, you may want to use your dishwasher to try to keep somewhat caught on the dishes. Nothing is more frustrating than being a plate or utensil short at the last minute.

    5. Washer Machine

Guests clothes and just general messes will cause your washer machine to put in some overtime during the holiday season.
